H.O.G. THE WORLD'S GREATEST MOTORCYCLE RIDING CLUB

First Ride with Us?

New to the West Texas H.O.G. Chapter? Whether you’re fresh to group rides or just new to our pack, we’re fired up to have you roll with us. Our crew lives for Harleys, open plains, and the kind of freedom you only get with asphalt under your wheels. Here’s what it’s like to join the Big Country’s tightest riders.

What to expect.

Picture this: a line of Harleys growling out of Kent’s Harley-Davidson, headed for a supper run to a local dive or a Saturday cruise through the Caprock’s wide-open nowhere. You’ll pull up to our meet spot—Kent’s or a diner we post on our Calendar or our Chapter GroupMe—get a nod or a handshake, and meet the pack. Our Road Captains take charge, laying out the route, pace, and stops with no BS. They’ll lead the way, signal turns, and keep the group tight in that classic staggered formation. Rides might be a quick Tuesday loop to a BBQ joint or a longer haul chasing a West Texas sunset. Expect safety first (we follow H.O.G.’s ride rules), but never stiff—there’s room for laughs and stories when we park. After the ride, we’ll swap tales over food or a cold drink, and you’ll feel like family before you kickstand up. Our Road Captains got your back—more on that below.

What to bring.

Keep it simple—this ain’t a parade, it’s a ride. Here’s what you need:
  • Your Harley: Serviced, fueled, and ready to roar. Any model, any year.
  • Gear: Helmet (DOT-approved, your call on full or half), gloves, boots, and weather-ready clothes—West Texas sun or wind can bite. Sunglasses or clear lenses for night runs.
  • Basics: Water bottle (it’s dry out here), some cash or card for grub, and your phone for pics or emergencies.
  • H.O.G. Membership: Not mandatory for your first spin, but National H.O.G. membership’s the key to joining our chapter long-term. Ask us how.
  • Attitude: Bring a hunger for the road and a respect for the pack. Leave the showboating at home—we ride as one.
Got a question about your setup? Swing by Kent’s or hit us up before the ride. We’ll square you away.

No Bike Left Behind!

We ride as a pack, and nobody gets dropped—that’s the West Texas H.O.G. way. Flat tire? We stop. Bike coughing? We’ve got tools or a tow plan. New to group rides and worried about the flow? Our Road Captains are your wingmen. These are our seasoned riders—think grizzled vets who know every curve from Abilene to Terlingua. They plan the routes, lead the pack, and watch for hazards, signaling every turn or stop so you stay locked in. They set a pace that keeps it fun but doable, whether you’re on a Dyna or a loaded Ultra. Nervous about formation? They’ll pair you with a buddy or ride sweep to keep you in the groove. Got a question mid-ride? They’re the ones with answers, radios, and a knack for keeping it smooth. Off the bike, they’re the first to slap your back and share a tip over a burger. No one’s left behind—Road Captains make damn sure of it. Gear up, saddle up, and ride easy—we’ve got you covered.
